Question about headaches, dizziness, shakiness
March 25th, 2008
Hi,
Four months ago I went to a Gypsy psychic near where I live for advice, she ended up talking me into getting a spiritual cleansing for my family and I. After 2 days of the start of the cleansing I started feeling extremely sped up and wound up, and started getting pressure headaches, dizziness, shakiness all over the body, tinnitus (which is ringing in the ears), and even my blood vessels and muscles feel very tight and constricted constantly. It’s very uncomfortable to feel like this, and at this point I fear what being like this for so long is doing to my health. I’ve tried everything I can think of energy and reiki healings, prayer, meditation, hatha yoga (which actually just made it worse) sea salt baths nothing has helped. Someone just told me she might have awakened the Kundalini energy in me. Can anyone tell me, is this true? I’m desperate to find a solution to this.
Dear friend,
Your symptoms sound quite consistent with the problems many have experienced with upward meditation methods such as Kundalini Yoga. We have written several posts on this matter, including:

Our basic advice is to invoke your heart by breathing deeply and rhythmically, using your physical heartbeat to anchor your attention on your heart and on your physical body: 8 heartbeats in, 8 heartbeats out. Your symptoms are caused by too much upward energy, without enough downward flow of energy, which flows into the heart. To increase the downward flow, use the Water Breath: breathe in through the nose, out through the mouth, while feeling a stream of energy which flows down into your heart from above. This energy fills your body with light and harmony.
love,
Puran and Susanna

Thanks for the valuable information. I had just woke up, and was lying in bed when I began to feel a weird sensation like dizziness overcoming me. I began to slightly panic. After approx. 20 minutes, I sat up. I became extremely dizzy and immediately had to lie back down. After another ten minutes, I was OK. I had done Kundalini Yoga for approx. 2 1/2 hours the previous night. I suspected the yoga had something to do w/ it. You confirmed my suspicions. Thank you! I feared having to call 911. Now, I know it’s not an emergency.
